Wheaton Academy orchestra students had the rare and privileged opportunity to hear from world renowned

orchestra conductor John Nelson in their second period class today. Nelson conducts orchestras all over the world, including the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Nelson is a godfather to two of the Wheaton Academy orchestra students and volunteered to share his story with the students. Students were engaged as Nelson shared his journey and spoke of his love for music. Students also had the oppportunity to ask Nelson questions. Although Nelson is very accomplished he gives God all the credit for his musical talent and ability. He encouraged students to find something they love to do and said, " I hope you all play for the rest of your lives no matter what you do."
