Chicago Then, Chicago Now

This course will enrich students’ appreciation of the city of Chicago through a greater grasp of the history of the city combined with present day exploration.  The students will spend time in class encountering the movers and shakers that have given this city its unique American flair.  In addition, students will spend several afternoons in the city experiencing what was once ‘then’ that has become ‘now’.

Course requirements/prerequisites:  Yes, students must be willing to spend a few extended afternoons in the city.  Students will be compensated with a few free afternoons.

Open to Grades: 9-12
