Sports Films: A Character Study

In this course, we will watch different sports movies and then relate them to our own walk as Christians. We will study a brief history of each sport to give us a background for each film.  We will also study the true story that inspired each movie. We will notice what the films may teach about life and how the characters and stories may relate to Christ or how He would respond.  Some of the titles we may explore are Rocky, Field of Dreams, Hoosiers, among others.  All movie titles will be pre-approved for appropriateness. The course will culminate in a writing project in which the students relate a few of the movie characters to their own relationship with Christ.
