Wheaton Academy is pleased to announce that Kevin Lubbers will assume the role of Athletic Director for the Warriors beginning May 1st. Kevin has served as head men’s basketball coach at Colorado Christian University for the last six years, compiling a school-record 89 wins, and his second National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) championship this year. Kevin was also named NCCAA coach of the year for 2016-2017.
Kevin brings the experience necessary to build strong programs, develop athletes, and mentor coaches as he has successfully done at both Colorado Christian University and at Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights). He also has a proven history of helping athletes succeed in the classroom. His experience at the college level, as both a coach and a highly successful player (NAIA II Academic All-American), will also help athletes and their families navigate the process of pursuing collegiate athletics.
In 2001, Kevin received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Trinity Christian College and then went on for further study at Lewis University, earning an MA in school counseling and guidance.
Kevin and his wife Anne have three children, Daisy, Nash, and Mae, and are looking forward to returning to the Midwest.
Wheaton Academy is excited to see Kevin’s leadership and vision take the athletic department to the next level.
