Reflections from our Graduating Seniors

Each year, Wheaton Academy seniors plan the last Chapel of the year. They use this platform to celebrate their time at Wheaton Academy, share with our community their next step, and commission our underclasses with a prayer. Here are some highlights from this chapel:

If we judge ourselves by our surroundings, trying to achieve the always out-of-reach status of being enough, then we will always be disappointed. We're not required to judge ourselves this way. 1 John 4:8 tells us that God is love. There is nothing that we as humans can do to make God love us more and there is nothing we can do to make him love us less. Our worth was set in stone from birth... We're already enough. And while we may already be enough, there is perpetual room for growth. We are constantly in pursuit of becoming the wholeness of what God intends for us.

- Max Dominguez, Class of 2018

"As high schoolers growing up in a very self-centered, self-celebrating culture, it's hard not to celebrate ourselves but instead to seek out and love what we see in other people. I want to encourage you, because there are ways that we can learn to do this."
- Lizzy Swoboda, Class of 2018

"When I think about the word celebration, I think about the four years I've spent here at Wheaton Academy... It has helped me through the hardest times of my life, and it's also been a place where I can grow spiritually and have some of the best times of my life."
- Joey DiNaso, Class of 2018
