Admissions -- Class of 2013
Admissions for the Class of 2013 has begun. If you know an eighth grader who is interested in Wheaton Academy, have them to contact Rachel Swanson in Admissions at 630-562-7501. Information can also be accessed on our website. Transfer students candidates are also being considered at this time for available openings. Please encourage those you know to consider Wheaton Academy as their high school.
Artist Series
Tickets are still available for the February 6 Shawn MacDonald concert and the May 8 Turtle Island String Quartet concert. Through the month of November you can purchase tickets to both concerts for $25. Please see Artist Series website or call 630-562-7588 to purchase tickets.
Timeshares for Teachers Update
We still need 15 more Timeshares for Teachers donations to ensure that each of our Living Curriculum Teachers is able to pick a vacation option as a "thank you" from the Wheaton Academy family this summer. If you have a vacation home or timeshare you'd be willing to share, contact Nikki Daniels. If you know of someone you'd like to recommend, please pass that info along, as well. Time is of the essence -- let's be sure not to leave anyone out.
Mock Trial Tryouts
Tryouts begin Saturday, November 1. Please see bulletin board outside lower library for information packet and signup.
Videos of LEAST
The video club will be selling copies of the LEAST performance. Anyone interested can contact Matt Hockett. DVDs are $10.00, and all proceeds go to the video club and Project Lead Africa.
Wheaton Academy Honors Veterans
We invite veterans and their spouses to join our students for a special tribute on Tuesday, November 11. A reception will be held in the Atrium starting at 8:30 am followed by a special assembly in the Fine Arts Center at 9:30 am. Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms. An RSVP is appreciated. Contact Jen Brendsel at 630-562-7503.
Evening of Classics
Students interested in singing or playing a solo or small ensemble for WA's Fall Evening of Classics on Monday, November 17 should pick up an audition form and sign up for an audition on the board outside the choir room. Auditions will take place on Friday, November 7 after school. Questions? Contact Joel Visker or Steve Willemssen.
National Honor Society Tutors Available in All Subjects
On Mondays (3:00-3:30 pm), Wednesdays (2:30-3:00 pm), and Thursdays (3:00-3:30 pm), National Honor Society students are available to tutor any student in need of academic assistance. Tutors are available in every academic subject. Any student needing assistance can go the library at any of these times (no appointment necessary) to get questions answered, receive help reviewing for tests, or other tutoring needs. Dads' Prayer - Special Guest Jack Burgess
All WA dads are invited to our monthly Dads' Prayer on Saturday, November 8 at 8:00 am in the historic white chapel. We will be introduced to a different teacher each month who will share some prayer needs from a teacher's perspective. Our special guest for November is Jack Burgess, WA Fine Arts teacher. Please be in prayer for your students, their teachers and our school.
