Improvisation: Life on the Fly

Instructor:  Brad Skeba
Course Fee:   None
Class Requirements/prerequisites:   None
Open to:   All Grades

We often assume that improvisation is a discipline that occurs only on the stage. However, every hilarious improv performance is actually the spontaneous result of the discipline’s deeper guiding philosophy and principles. Improvisation: Life on the Fly is a winterim course in which we explore and experience the ways that improvisation can alter how we approach our daily lives. The course will begin with an introduction to comedic improv as we learn and practice classic games of the genre, and progress into daily experiential activities (such as escape rooms, etc.) that push us to have fun while thinking on our feet. Ultimately, the course will seek to develop our intuition, expand our communication skills, and equip us to play in meaningful ways.
