Experience the satisfaction of turning raw materials into something of value. In this class the student will have the opportunity of using a variety of tools and processes to make a product. Manufacturing on a small scale! This class is for students who enjoy using their minds and hands. A variety of machine and hand tools are available to the student including: Drafting – manual and computer; Welding and heating – Oxy-acetylene, arc (SMAW), wire (MIG); Turning – two metal working lathes used to turn, thread, and bore; Milling – Bridgeport universal milling machine; Sawing – band, abrasive cut off, and power hack saw; Grinding – bench and surface; Drilling – two drill presses.
