What does it mean to compete? The definition of the verb compete is “to strive against another or others to attain a goal, such as an advantage or victory.” Competition implies that an obstacle is in your way. A person, a team, a challenge, or a large problem may be keeping you from reaching something that you desire. How are you going to respond to this challenge? Are you going to back down and give in? Are you going to compete and persevere in the face of adversity?

In this class, we are going to be practicing this perseverance. We are going to compete in a variety of different ways while learning what the Bible says about competition and how being a leader can make us better competitors. In the classroom, we have devotionals and leadership sessions. Then, we will compete in a variety of different ways through hands-on learning experiences, sports, activities, and competitions.

We want young men who want to compete well. Young men that will look adversity in the eyes and say, “Bring it on!”
